The reasons we discourage UPS shipping and why local markets are so important.
1. ) UPS Shipment is not sustainable. It is our
belief that modern agriculture has pinned its fate to cheap oil. Cheap oil is gone forever and we must all face
the adjustments ahead. In many cases, the cost of shipping will be higher than the meat. These costs will
not fall, they will rise. Therefore, it is critical that we build our local markets. We encourage you to come to the farm enjoy the day, stock up for a while and come back in a
couple of months. OR Get about 10-20 folks together and place a good size order and we will come to you (within
a reasonable distance).
3.) Sustainable delivery routes with green fuel! We are
committed to producing our own fuels for both production and delivery. By mid 2008 our operations will be self-sufficient
and off of foreign oil dependency. Unlike most bio-fuel producers, we are focusing on a year round balance of products
that can be produced for fuel and used for food here on the farm. When
you order our products, you help us build this program with the intent to educate others on self-sufficienct production and
delivery methods.
